This bronze tribal warrior figure of a pigmy warrior with a raffia skirt was made ca. 1930 by the Hagenauer Werkstatte in Vienna. The figure holds his spear aloft while dancing on one leg on the lion pelt he has dispatched. The figure is 5” high to the tip of his spear. It is marked on the bottom “Hagenauer Wein”, “Hand Made”, and “Made in Austria”, The Hagenauer Cypher “WHW” in a circle (Hagenauer Werkstatte Wein) is also struck on the base.

This cute elephant just wants to run…but something’s holding him back…maybe it might be the leg chained to a post. Executed in the late 1930’s by the Austrian Art Deco Hagenauer Werkstatte, the bronze elephant measures 7-1/4” and is stamped on the bottom “Made in Austria”, “Handmade”, “Hagenauer, Wein” and with the Hagenauer cipher.
This Austrian art deco hand carved wood panther dates from the 1930’s and is by Karl Hagenauer . The 8” high panther, reclining on a tree limb is mounted on a bronze base measuring 21” long and 4 3/8” wide. The base is marked “wHw” (Hagenauer Werkstatte, Wien) and “Made in Austria”. It is also marked “Made in Germany” on the bottom dating the piece to the German occupation of Austria.
