Lurelle Guild (1898 - 1986) was one of the most prolific American Designers! He designed up to 1,000 new items or modifications per year and sold his designs to firms such as Kensington, Electrolux, International Silver, Abercrombie & Fitch and Cochrane Carpets & Rugs among others. He was born in Syracuse NY and attended Syracuse University where he studied painting and mechanical drawing and design. Upon graduation, he moved to New York City. He started his own business, Lurelle Guild Associates, in New York in 1924. The first item designed by Lurelle Guild we ever had was a floor lamp. It took Ric about 6 months to find out who had made it and then, once he found out, he started collecting anything he could find by Lurelle Guild...including documentation...he designed bathrooms and one of them that he designed for Church Ensemble is pictured in House Beautiful's October 1933 issue.
