MODERNISM SHOW IN MIAMI CANCELED AGAIN

THE MIAMI MODERNISM show got canceled after being moved from December 2009 to January 2010. So sad. We were really looking forward to doing it but I guess "the economy" has made everyone cautious about spending the money & time to travel all the way here to do the show. On the other hand, with the cold cold weather we've had it's probably a good thing it got canceled!!!

Our next show will be in New York as we get ready to do the Architectural Digest Home Design Show again. Looking forward to it!!! More as we firm everything up. Show dates are in March 2010.

Lawndale’s 20th Century Modern Market is the only antiques show of its kind in Houston, exclusively featuring design of the twentieth century.
This year’s Market will feature specialist dealers from around the country, offering a variety of media including furniture, glass, ceramics, metalwork, textiles, objects d’art and fashion. Each year in conjunction with the Market, Lawndale offers a free public lecture pertaining to this important era in design.

Deco the Halls Show - Our Favorite

The Deco the Halls Show in San Francisco this weekend allowed us to visit with all our friends in the "circuit". It was great to see everyone and a lot of really nice and fun things were exhibited. OUR FAVORITE AT L.A. MODERNISM - BUTTERFLY PIANO AT OFF THE WALL ANTIQUES

The show had lots and lots of really great deco and moderne! We had trouble deciding but we settled on the Wurlitzer "Butterfly" Art Deco Piano, an American piano made in 1939. The "Butterfly" was named for the unique center hinge mechanism which makes it look like a butterfly. The piano comes with a bench and has been refinished.
