Domergue Brunette

A very striking oil on board by Jean-Gabriel Domergue (French 1889 - 1962). Domergue first learned painting from Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and later under Adler and Humbert. He first exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Francais in 1906, in 1908 he received an Honorable Mention and in 1920 the Gold Medal. Domergue painted Europe's fashionable women including Gina Lollobrigida, Brigitee Bardot and Mylene Demongeur. This portrait measures 21" x 17 ½" and is in a silver leaf frame.
