French Art Deco Glass Circles Palissandre Dining Table

In the 1930’s this French art deco Palissandre (rosewood) and nickel dining table was “top of the line”. Constructed of rosewood and rosewood veneers, the table top sits on two columns rising from a long rosewood base with three lap feet at each end. The feet and stretcher are trimmed in bright nickel plated metal. The two columns each begin with a Palissandre cylinder encircled with a 1” thick glass ring and escalate to a flat sided urn with deep “v’s” cut into the corners. The top accommodates two 20” matching leaves which are affixed by pulling out two nickel rods which are fitted in each end of the top. Refinished in high gloss clear lacquer, the table measures 78 ¾” long (118 ¾” with the two leaves attached), 43 ¼” wide and 30” high.
