French Art Deco ‘handkerchief’ Game Table by Jacques Adnet

This 1930’s French art deco table is known as a “handkerchief” or “envelope” game table. The top rotates a quarter turn and the four diamonds fold and splay out to reveal the felt playing surface with shallow metal cups to hold the drinks. Designed by Jacques Adnet (1900 - 1984), the top is in book matched mahogany veneers. The stepped base holds a square column with a door that opens to reveal 2 drawers and two shelves. The table is 29 ½ “ tall and 21” on each side (30” when open). The table is in excellent condition apart from small tear in the felt.
