French Art Deco Rosewood Gueridon

Mies van der Rohe was fond of saying “God is in the Details” and in the case of this rosewood occasional table; God, what Details! The table has a top of fine palissandre marquetry in a sunburst pattern….Detail; the edge continues the veneer of the top….Detail: The beveled underside of the top is finished in rosewood. The top rests on a cylinder of rosewood…Detail: The base of the cylinder features a fine rosewood edge. The three sensuously curved tapering rosewood legs flow from the cylinder…Detail: The bronze sabots extend up the face of the leg…Detail: The bronze trim finishes with a curved flourish against the cylinder. Excellence in design and execution makes this a very special table. It measures 27 ½” in diameter and is 19 ½” high.
