French Art Deco Sideboard Attributed to Lucien Rollin

This exceptional French art deco sideboard is attributed to Lucien Rollin (1906 – 1993) and dates from the 1930’s. Two large doors veneered in book matched Amboina burl open to reveal shelves. In keeping with Rollin’s taste, the sideboard is veneered overall in Amboina burl and the decoration is mainly in the beauty of the wood and harmony of the design as evidenced in the step top and cantilevered and rounded sides. Four drawers in cream lacquer are centered above a stylized scroll device and valance also in cream lacquer. The round bronze pulls on the doors and drawers are the only visible fittings. The sideboard is 89” wide x 20 “ deep and 38 ¼” high.
