Juan Jose Sicre Sculpture

This art deco bronze sculpture by famed Cuban artist Juan Jose Sicre (1898-1974) is titled "Ilse Erythropel Girona" and is # 1 in an edition of one and is dated 1932. The sculpture measures 18" high, including the 3" marble base. Ilse Erythropel was a student of Sicre's at San Alejandro in Habana. Her father was the German ambassador to Cuba in the early 1930's. She married Julio Girona who was a student at San Alejandro at the same time.
