Macassar Ebony Coffee Table

A large and impressive French Art Deco macassar ebony coffee table after a design by Emile Jacques Ruhlmann (1879 -1933). This table follows Ruhlmann’s 1918 – 1919 “Basse-Boule Cabanel” table design but was not made in his atelier. The table has a thick top in macassar ebony veneer resting on four large ribbed macassar ebony balls, the whole seated on an open base of the same wood. The table, which has just been refinished, measures 31” wide x 58” long and is 24” high.
