Muller Freres

[Founded in 1895] 

(Muller Brothers) in Luneville, France, was one of the premier glassmakers of the period. The Mullers produced art glass competing with Daum and Galle from 1895 till the war intervened in 1914. Resuming production in 1919, the company concentrated on ceiling fixtures, wall sconces and table lamps. The Depression caused Muller Freres to cease production in 1933 and finally close down in 1936.

Click to Read More. The vase exhibits many iconic deco themes; the Calla Lilly, martelé surfaces, an eight sided base and a series of graduated rings at the top. The color of the glass is an opaque white with a pale green cast. The vase is signed on the bottom in the mold “Muller Freres Luneville” and is 8” high and 5 ¾” diameter.

Click to Read More, located in Luneville. The chandelier has a central bowl and four smaller bowls of smoked glass, all partially etched. Each bowl has four graduated rings before expanding to the main bowl, the upper portion is of clear glass. The structure is supported by four square chrome tube rods descending from a square chrome ceiling cap decorated on all four sides with a geometric sunrise. The four bowls are attached to the center bowl by chrome arms. It is 32" in diameter and drops 32" from the ceiling. The glass is marked "Muller Fr." The fixture has been rewired for American electricity, it is in excellent condition and ready to hang.

The large pale peach center glass has a three step central dome, above which is a frieze of roses. The rose décor is echoed in the six pale peach shades. The glass is signed “Muller Freres, Luneville”. The chandelier, which has been replated and rewired for American electricity, drops 33” from the ceiling and is 32” in diameter.

The central bowl of pink glass features a frieze of striding panthers. The fixture, which has been replated and rewired form American electricity is 30” in diameter and drops 38” from the ceiling. The drop can be shortened according to your needs.

This classic French art deco table lamp is from the late 1920’s. The hand wrought iron body has a domed base on four scroll feet. A ring of balls surround the vertical shafts which terminate in a collar in another ring of balls. Four arms support the frosted glass shade which is signed “Muller FreresMuller Freres

Click to Read More. The six sided peach glass shade with clear and frosted geometric design is signed “Muller Freres”. It sits on a silvered wrought iron base. The foot is rayed, matching the shade. The shaft is decorated with beaded droms of various lengths. Made between 1925 and 1936 (when the factory closed), the lamp is 18 ¼” high.
