Norman Bel Geddes American Art Deco Bedroom Set
This three pieces bedroom set was designed by Norman Bel Geddes (1893 - 1958) for the Simmons Company of Chicago, Illinois. The line was introduced in 1932 and exhibited at the 1933 Worlds Fair in Chicago. The set is in "exhibition yellow" and black enamel on steel. The dresser is 36" high, 46 ½" wide and 19" deep. The headboard is 36" high and 52" wide, the curved footboard is 23" high and 53" wide.
Pair of Norman Bel Geddes Candleholders
Norman Bel Geddes (1893-1958) designed this pair of satin chrome candle holders for the Revere Copper and Brass Inc. They were introduced in 1935 with their first gift catalog as the no. 135 tuxedo candlesticks. The catalog raphodises “A gentle grace and a flowing rhythm of design seldom caught in any but the finest handmade article”. Each holder accommodates 3 candles and is marked “Revere, Rome, NY”. They are 7 1/8” long, 2 ¼” wide and 2 ¾” high.
American Art Deco Vanity by Norman Bel Geddes
Norman Bel Geddes designed this art deco vanity for the Simmons Company in 1930. It was one of the first pieces of American metal case goods. The April 1930 issue of House and Garden Magazine described it as "A practical dressing table…of black enameled steel with chromium plated base and trimming." The vanity measures 43" wide x 10" deep x 72" high.
Norman Bel Geddes American Art Deco Cocktail Set
Norman Bel Geddes (1893 – 1958) designed this American art deco cocktail set in 1936 for Revere Copper and Brass Company. Known as The Manhattan¸the chrome plated cocktail shaker, tray and two cups are marked “Revere, Rome, NY”. The shaker is 13 “ high and 3 ¼” in diameter, the tray is 14 ½” x 11 ½”.
Norman Bel Geddes American Art Deco Hors d’Oeuvre Set
Norman Bel Geddes (1893 – 1958) designed this American Art Deco hors d'œuvre set for the Revere Copper and Brass Company of Rome, New York ca. 1935. The set consists of eight “Five o’clock # 813” canapé trays and a “Norsman” bread tray. All pieces are finished in satin chromium over brass. The “Norsman” tray has green Catalin handles and measures 21” x 6”. The canapé trays each measure 6 ¾” x 4 5/8”. All pieces are in excellent condition and are marked “Revere, Rome NY”.
Bel Geddes Art Deco Table Mirror
This art deco table mirror with skyscraper setbacks was designed by Norman Bel Geddes for the Simmons Company, Chicago, Illinois in 1932. The mirror measures 26" wide x 27 1/2" high.
