French Art Deco Furniture

Pair Porteneuve Arm Chairs

This pair of French art deco arm chairs were designed and constructed ca. 1935 in the workshop of Alfred Porteneuve (1896 – 1949). Porteneuve, the nephew of Jacques-Emile ruhlmann editioned his furniture in Ruhlmann’s later years and after his death in 1933 continued the tradition of quality craftsmanship. These chairs are of macassar ebony with an upholstery of moiré silk pattern suede. The chairs measure 24” wide x 20” deep and 33 ¾” high.
